" I come from a mixed culture background that generates a lot of stories. I do art because I want to tell those stories. "
I'm French-Ecuadorian, born in 1984 in Latacunga, Cotopaxi, in Ecuador.
Artistic approach:
I come from a mixed culture background that generates a lot of stories.
I started doing art because I wanted to tell those stories and painting was making them deep, personal and challenging.
I'm inspired by poverty.
Poor people, wether they lack material or humanity, are a trigger to my inventivity - to me, nature and animism transform any kind of poverty into meaningfull life lessons.
Poverty has also taught me that life can be extremely exciting if we are in the right state of mind, this is why I try to build a body of works that help viewers to train mental speed, mental strenght and mental felxibility, in order to reach those intangible places we have in ourselves and where our ordinary lives look like an exciting adventure we would never exchange for anything in the world.
